Kat Von D ‘Alchemist Palette’ – REVIEW

Hello loves,

While I was in Downtown Disney, I stumbled upon a Sephora and you know I had to stop by and buy something… because DUH! I’ve had my eye on the Kat Von D Alchemist Palette for a while now and it’s been sold out everywhere so I thought maybe I with the help of some Disney Magic I would be able to find one in store. And I did! Cue all the excitement!

The actual palette is a white holographic triangle with a giant A and a swirly design. For how much I paid for the palette, I kind of expected a little bit nicer packaging. It is basically just fancy cardboard. The inside is black with a mirror. So not the best packaging but certainly not the worst!

This palette retails for $32 and contains four “holographic” shades. (Really they are more prismatic, they do have some color shifting but not like a full rainbow shift or anything like that unfortunately..) This palette contains a (Green) Emerald shade, a (Blue) Saphyre shade, an (Ultra-violet) Emethyst shade and a (Pink) Opal shade. And let me just say that these are absolutely GORGEOUS. While the amount of product is pretty small, the shadows are extremely pigmented so a little goes a long way.

(Emerald/ Amethyst/ Opal/ Blue)

What surprised me the most was the difference between the pan color and the color after being applied. In the pan, the green shade looks yellow, the blue shade looks white, the purple shade looks pink and the pink shade looks orange. I don’t understand how that happened but the actual color of the product is true to the claims.

I think my favorite thing about this palette is the versatility. You can wear it as eyeshadow, highlighter, eyeliner… pretty much anything you can think of. The colors look amazing on their own but if you want to spice things up you can put them on top of other colors. For my rainbow liner, I just put them over my regular black liner. They definitely pop and I got tons of compliments on them!

Overall, I think these shadows are definitely worth the money and I am having so much fun wearing them in so many different ways! You should definitely give them a try!

Love,
