NYE Makeup and Outfit Details

I love New Years Eve because it’s one of the only times that it’s okay to go crazy with the sparkles. I absolutely adore sparkles therefore, NYE is fantastic.

Let’s start with makeup.

I have already applied my face makeup- if you want to see what products I use go check out Products I Use Daily.

After applying my base face makeup, I started with an eyeshadow base. I used the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk all over. Literally. Since I was planning on going for a fairly dramatic look, I wanted the base to be light enough for the colors to really stand out. Then I just blended it out with my fingers. I find this works really well because the warmth from your fingers plus the creamy formula make for an easy blending job.

Since the formula is so creamy, I then set it with the shade Laetus from the Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye Palette. What you use to set it isn’t extremely important.. just use a lid eyeshadow shade. I then used Lazarus from the same palette to act as a transition shade. All this does is make blending darker shadows easier, which is important for the eye look I’m doing.

So, I was kind of going for a cut crease here so I took some Saleos from the Kat Von D Palette and just slapped it in the crease. At this point, I knew I was going to blend like crazy so there was no need to be precise. I then proceeded to blend the top of the line until it was smooth. This is where that transition shade comes in handy. I also went ahead and put the same shade down onto my lower lashline. I was going for a smokey look.

This is where the star of the show comes into play. I used the ELF Long-lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow in Silver all over my lid. Take this right up to that really dark line you’ve probably spent forever trying to blend. This is really going to pull that cut crease look together. TBH, this product is awesome. I wasn’t expecting much because it was so cheap but it’s extremely pigmented and sparkly! Perfect for NYE.

Now for the terrifying part. I am by no means a professional at eyeliner and I was completely terrified that I was going to screw this whole look up with it. I used my NYC Liquid Eyeliner and gave myself a decent sized wing. I always love winged eyeliner for dramatic looks. For a more detailed eyeliner post, click HERE.

Lash time. I curled my lashes and added one coat of the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. Then I put on some falsies because dramatic looks call for dramatic lashes. At least in my book.

I added some extra highlight on my cheekbones and the tip of my nose using the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette in Incandescent Light.

Originally I used the Covergirl lipstick in Dulce de Leche with Rimmel’s Lip Liner in Enchantment but it wasn’t quite pink enough for me so I went in with the Covergirl lipstick in Ententress Blush later on.
