Makeup Products I Use Daily

I always get questions on what makeup products I wear on the daily so I decided to write a post that includes it all.

SKIN PREP:

Moisturizer:

I first start out using the Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream. This stuff comes in a giant container and it really gets the job done. It also doesn’t have a scent so it doesn’t bother my skin.

Primer:

I use the NYX HD Primer Base. Now this guy is new to my makeup team but definitely worth mentioning. It looks kind of weird when you first open it because it’s grey… but it sinks into your skin nicely and it really helps with oil control. For real. My skin likes to shine bright like a diamond without it.

MAKEUP:

Concealer:

Before I start, I would just like to say that I am kind of a concealer fanatic. I have four concealers that I use. The first two go under my foundation.

For any redness I have, I use the NYX Full Cover Concealer in green. I really like this concealer because it has a creamy formula that doesn’t look cakey on my skin. It also lasts a long time.

Then for my under eyes, I use the NYX Dark Circle Corrector in fair. I don’t know what it is about this product but it’s great for covering up the dark purple splotches under my eyes. The peachy color is subtle and like all of NYX’s concealers, it’s nice and creamy.

After my foundation is on, I cover up any green that is peeking through with the NYX Full Cover Concealer in fair. Most people might not have this problem but due to my paleness, some colors really want to show up on my face. In this case… the green. I guess my inner Elphaba really wants to shine through.

To brighten up my under eyes further, I use the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Brightener and set that with the ELF HD Powder using my Beauty Blender.

Foundation:

I use the Kat Von D Lock It Foundation in light 42. Disclaimer: This foundation is pretty much white; it’s extremely pale. It’s actually too light for my skin tone but I add color back with the NYX Stay Matte but not Flat Powder Foundation in Neutral. This also sets my foundation so it’s pretty much a win-win situation.

Contour:

I use the NYX Highlight & Contour Palette. For my nose, I use the shade Sculpt (the lighter one) and my cheek bones I use the shade, Hollow (the darker one). I’ve got to hand it to NYX, that’s the perfect name for the hollows of your cheeks. Bravo.

Blush:

I use the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Palette in the shades Mood Exposure and Luminous Flush. These shades are great because they are very natural looking on the skin. So, if you like glowy skin then these are absolute perfection.

Highlight:

I use the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette in Incandescent Light. It’s great because it’s buildable. I don’t always want to have a super crazy highlight but when I do, I can layer it. This color is very versatile and I love it.

Eyes:

Eyeshadow Base:

I start with the NYX Jumbo Eye pencil in Milk as a base for the shadows I am going to use. For a pencil, this stuff is extremely blendable and since it is white, it really makes any eyeshadow you put on top pop.

Eyeshadow:

Then for some definition, I use the Kat Von D Eye Contour Palette. I use Lazarus (the lighter brown) as a blending shadow and Saleous (the darker brown) for definition. These shadows are so extremely pigmented. Like I can tap my brush into them and it’s dark. No build up necessary.

For my lid, I use Iridescent Light from the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette. It isn’t technically an eyeshadow but it looks beautiful on the lid. I typically use my finger for the most pigmented application.

Lashes:

When I am going for a little more of a glam look I’ll add in some false lashes. I use the Vegas Nay False Eyelashes in Grand Glamour. These are some serious lashes and when you first buy them you’re definitely going to need to trim the band some. It’s crazy long and uncomfortable if you don’t.

Or if you don’t want to be super glam, just add mascara. That’s what I do on the daily. I typically use a cheap Maybelline one. Drugstore mascara is life.

Eye Liner:

I use the NYC liquid liner anytime I use eyeliner. If you want more detail go check out my How to Wing it eyeliner blog.

Lips:

I use the Rimmel Lip Liner in Enchantment and the Covergirl Lipstick in the shade Dulce de Leche. This lipliner literally glides on your lips. It feels like butter if it could be in stick form. The lipstick doesn’t chap my lips. Enough said.

And that is what I typically wear on my face. Everything that I used I purchased with my own money and love.

That is all.
